In 1990 Edgard received a MAGNA CUM LAUDE Bachelor of Arts degree in Applied Science, from the Northern Virginia Community College, majoring in Photography. Stylistically, Edgard Zamalloa's work is unique in its development of images from scenic or nature to abstract. His surreal abstracts are dynamic images, which induces the senses of the viewers to transcend them to a new an interesting levels of consciousness, through full and vivid colors and crisp shapes. The philosophy underlying his art is that abstraction is indeed the normal way the world is presented to all of us. We tend to select a real object from this abstract world isolating its specific shape and colors from its surroundings. Before we take this conscious action, nothing is in reality defined. Edgard 's works have been selected and accepted by jurors for exhibition in the Art League of Alexandria, Virginia. He has several exhibitions and awards, including in 1995 a contest by jury and popular vote in Brasilia, Brazil; four of his images were selected to be printed as official post cards by the Secretary of Tourism of Brazil.
